Mastodon haben es über die Länge von vier Alben getan, Thrice der Thematik ein Konglomerat aus EP's gewidmet...kaum einer hat die vier Elemente auf musikalischer Konzeptbasis bisher jedoch derart konsequent und charakterstark verdichtet, wie Bell Witch dies auf ihrem Zweitwerk Four Phantoms getan haben. Vier Epen strahlen da unter der fantastischen Produktion von Billy Anderson eine abgründige Dunkelheit aus, die eine faszinierende Formvollendung des bereits auf Longing so übermannend zelebrierten Dooms zelebriert. Dass Dylan Desmond stellvertretend für das Duo aus Ontario auch den Heavy Pop Adventskalender 2015 zu einem runden Abschluss bringt, ist insofern eine besonders schlüssige Ehre.
