Evelyn Gray – Hang On In There Baby

Hang on in There ist die Debütsingle von – Achtung, Verwechslungsgefahr! – Evelyn Gray.
With many of us now at different stages in our lives from when we first began the band, we feel as though now is a good time to close the curtains on the Tapir! chapter of our lives. We are all so proud of what we’ve made – we have completed the project that we set out to achieve and then some.
We are grateful to be in a position where we can look back on what we’ve done with a great sense of pride and celebrate the years and work so many have put into it. We will never forget the experiences this band and our following has given us.
As sad as this news may be, we hope that it can also be a celebration. Our album has meant different things to us individually, and to know that it means something to others is more than we could have ever hoped for.
Although Tapir! is over, we will continue to work with each other in different capacities, and we’ll keep this platform to update folk with the things we’re working on.
Thank you to those who joined us on this journey, and to those who helped us conquer this mountain, we couldn’t have done it without you.
P.S. On a more personal and self indulgent note, I, Evelyn (formerly Ike), have been prioritising my transition since finishing the album campaign and moving out of London, but as you are probably aware, the current state of legitimate gender affirming care isn’t too great.
I have decided to go down the diy route, but have been struggling to find the funds to get the ball rolling. I have recently released a song to Bandcamp titled ‚hang on in their baby‘. I know times are hard, but if you have enjoyed our music and you’re able to, please consider purchasing the song, as all profits will go towards my transition fund.
As you can imagine, touring and releasing music whilst combatting dysphoria hasn’t been easy and takes a lot of navigating and masking (literally lol) – any support in the continuation of my journey towards being confident and comfortable in my body and this world would mean everything to me – lots of love and best wishes to everyone on their own journey xx
