With the myriad of different projects Justin Pearson has going on at the same time, one has to wonder if the scene-icon from San Diego can find some time to recreate. Not only does he open our annual Heavy Pop advent calendar, he’s also cooperating with Luke Henshaw as Plan B, revived all-star supergroup Head Wound City and founded - with ex-Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo and (former) Retox colleagues Michael Crain and Gabe Serbian equally high-quality cast – Dead Cross. Talking about Retox: their furious sophomore album 'Beaneath California' brings up another question more important then the one about Pearson’s rest periods – how does this dude keep getting better and better?

On their first headline tour through Europe Thom (Guitar, Vocals) and Charlie (Bass, Vocals) met Heavy Pop at dasBach to talk about their debut album, skateboarding, and why their song 'Smoking Kills' isn’t really about smoking.
"After a nine year lag, it’s time to get back on the wagon!" The California punk veterans Lagwagon are back with their new, long-awaited record 'Hang', which will be released on October 28. On their third European tour the electric/acoustic punk rock band Get Dead finally made it to Austria. Heavy Pop met Sam (singer) and Tim (bass) right before their concert on May 26th at dasBach in Vienna to talk about their tour, the life on the road in general and future plans.
Kevin Devine is currently touring across Europe - without the Goddamn Band, but with songs from his most recent two studio records 'Bubblegum' and 'Bulldozer'. Right before the concert at the B72 in Vienna he speaks about his his experiences with crowdfunding, future plans and the music industry among other things.
