2014 couldn’t have started better for KMPFSPRT: „Jugend Mutiert“ easily lived up to the high expectations euphoric concert reviews and the „Das ist doch kein Name für ‚ne Band“ EP were suggesting. Close to eleven months later, the albums punkr rock hits lost nothing of their pressure and vigor. Old Lines sind mittlerweile beim Aushänge-Label No Sleep angekommen. Was allerdings kein Grund für Mitch Roemer und Co. ist, ihre bohrende Melange aus doomigem Hardcore und metallischem Crust in irgendeiner Weise freundlicher aufzuziehen.
Die neun Jahre seit 'Resolve' (bzw. zwei seit dem Tod von Tony Sly) haben Joey Cape kaum älter, aber doch ernster werden lassen und Lagwagon daneben nicht nur zu einer beinahe basisdemokratisch geführten Einheit werden, sondern vor allem auch musikalisch wachsen lassen. Die Klasse dieses bisweilen triumphalen Comebacks darf einen dann aber trotzdem ein klein wenig überraschen.
"Es ist eine gute Rockplatte". Das mag für The Voice-Sidekick Gavin Rossdale durchaus so erscheinen. Außerhalb seiner Band wird das sechste Studioalbum seiner wiederbelebten Kombo aber wohl vor allem als bocklangweilige Anbiederung an weichgespülte Alternative Rock-Formatradiosender gehört werden.
