Right before the concert at the B72 in Vienna he speaks about his his experiences with crowdfunding, future plans and the music industry among other things.

Ein abschließendes Schmankerl für all jene, die nach dem Triumphjahr 2013 noch nicht von der Präsenz des schottischen Trios übersättigt sind; ein wahres Heimspiel für Biffy Clyro selbst: Simon Neil und die Johnston-Zwillinge lassen sich in Glasgow die Songs ihrer ausführlichen Hitschleuder 'Opposites' aus der Hand fressen.
Day 18 of the HeavyPop Advent calendar brings us France's most intense band. Usually friends of rapid-fire releases (three and a half records over the course of five years) Lyon's Celeste took nearly three years to meticulously craft their Opus Magnum 'Animale(s)', and every second of work shows on their pitch-black conceptual work of art. Never before did Celeste sound more detailed, more coherent – in short: better. It was hard to imagine after the already outstanding 'Morte(s) Nee(s)', but Celeste outdid themselves again.
On 01st of december 2013 Klaus Zwinger met with the american singer-songwriter Koji right before and musician and activist opened the Into It. Over It. gig at the Arena in Vienna to talk among other things about the recent tour and future plans.
No, sadly the long-awaited British Theatre debut album wasn't released in 2013. But to see Mike Vennart and Richard "Gambler" nearly exactly three years after their last visit in Austria (back then they did an awesome and really memorable concert in the final days of the legendary Oceansize under kinda bizarre circumstances in Afflenz) backing Biffy Clyro on stage recalls what magnificent jobs they already did with their 'EP' and 'Dyed in the Wool Ghost' last year. So to bridge the hard waiting time unto we'll (hopefully!) hear the highly anticipated first full length from the duo in 2014, here's what they two recommend this year:
"I may be an optimist" declares Josh Mann on 'Bright Lights', and not without reason: on their sophomore album (and their first on Uncle M) 'The Smoke Will Clear' , the Australian quartet Paper Arms honoured every promise their debut 'Days Above Ground' made to predict them as one of the up and coming young punk rock bands. So while Paper Arms can view into the future quite optimistically, singer/guitarist Josh Mann took his time for the Heavypop Advent calender to compile his favourite 5 records of the past year 2013.

Hymnen, Hits und Ohrwürmer aus allen Rohren: Biffy Clyro sind längst die größte kleine Rockband des Planeten - an der jeder teilhaben darf und kann. Vor der inhomogenen Fanmasse des Gasometers beschließen die drei Schotten ihre aktuelle Arena-Tour jedenfalls fulminant.
'Night Time, My Time' ist das Debütalbum der erst 21 jährigen Sky Ferreira, und dennoch schon so etwas wie ein (soundtechnischer) Reboot, der beinahe nicht mehr für möglich gehaltene (Neu)Start ihres Dasein als Musikerin. Bei der Vorgeschichte eigentlich kein Wunder, dass dieser das Hype-Barometer in die Höhe schießen lässt und die Sängerin/Schauspielerin/Troublemakerin zum aktuell ultimativen It-Girl zwischen Mainstream und Indie hochstilisiert.
All Hallows’ Eve steht vor der Tür, und damit Suspence, Horror und Nervenkitzel. Bevor man nun aber selbst um die Häuser zieht oder sich mit adäquaten Filmen vorm Fernseher verkriecht gilt es natürlich sich stimmungsvoll auf die unheimliche Nacht vor Allerheiligen einzustimmen. Und womit ginge das besser als mit Musikclips, die das ganze Jahr über Halloween zu feiern scheinen. An dieser Stelle deswegen 11 der (aus verschiedensten Gründen) gruseligsten Videos da draußen - sowie natürlich die Mutter aller musikalischen Horrorstreifen.
