Thou from Baton Rouge are the mightiest doom force on the planet for some time now, as their spotless, overwhelming discography impressivly proves. Ein unveröffentlichtes Album aus der gemeinhin schwächsten Phase des Man in Black, knappe 10 Jahre nach dem Tod des Man in Black ausgegraben. Skepsis durfte da die Vorfreude durchaus überschatten - 'Out Among the Stars' nun umso überraschender mit seinen Qualitäten aufzeigen kann.
Der aktuell mitunter großartigste Storyteller Amerikas gleitet wieder durch Ohio und wunderbar einfühlsame Geschichten voller totgeweihter Charaktere und kleinen Weisheiten des fortschreitenden Alters. Musikalisch führt 'Benji' jedochvor allem die vielen Aufbruchsstimmung-Ansätze der letzten Jahre geschickt weiter.
