Favourite Records of the Year. Selected by: Mile Me Deaf

The reason why the year 2014 in Wolfgang Möstls personal music history only secondarily marks the year Killed by 9V Batteries were brought to an end invokes comparisons to the Beatles, hides itself very Sgt. Pepper-like behind a concept of nerdy homages, and celebrates a varied party of twelve Lo-Fi gems starting with its artwork: Mile Me Deaf probably have never been better than on their wonderfully easygoing collection of catchy tunes ‚Holography‚. One year after he helped bringing Sex Jams noiserock to the next level, Wolfgang Möstl continues to make no mistakes on his several playgrounds. And we’re still allowed to miss Killed by 9V Batteries.

St. Vincent – ‚St.Vincent
A very good live band, and a very, very well produced Album. Furthermore I think Annie Clark is a very, very, very good guitar player.

Bulbul – ‚Hirn Fein Hacken
Once more, a masterpiece from the masters. Sounds like Bulbul from the beginning to the end, which I like very much.

Ruby Fray – ‚Grackle
A gorgeous new record on K records. Played with Sex Jams in New Orleans, equally as stunning live. For real.

Bugs and Rats – ‚Bugs and Rats
Amazing noise band from Boston/Massachusetts. A bit of Unwound with a vocalist, who ranges from Gollum to Mickey Mouse. I like!

Scarlet ChivesThis is Protection
(Came out last year in Sweden, but was released in 2014 in Austria) Best dreampop record of 2014! Listened to this by far the most of all these records.

Many thanks to Wolfgang Möstl for his participation on the Heavy Pop Advent calendar – and of course to Thomas from Siluh Records as well!
